“Oh, My Government!” can be expletive or words of praise. It can be an utterance made in frustration, disbelief and dismay; or an expression of admiration, satisfaction or happiness.
An organization promoting regional cooperation through improved knowledge, systems and practices in government administration, the Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA) is embarking on a photo/photoessay contest entitled “OMG: Oh My Government!” aiming to promote consciousness in public administration and governance. It aims to capture the interest of both the government and the public in pushing for reforms, improvement and innovations in government administration. Images can showcase good practices in public service and/or their outcomes, images citing issues that the government should be concerned about, or those that give citizens a sense of hope for a better future with their government. They can also show “unbelievably harebrained” practices that don’t work. OMG! is about exposing the bad (especially the unbelievably irrational and illogical), and propagating the good and giving hope for the future of citizens and governments. SHOOT, SHARE and WIN! |
