Asian Review of Public Administration (ARPA)

Background
The Asian Review of Public Administration (ARPA) is the biannual journal of the Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA). It is an internationally-refereed journal in the field of public administration and governance in Asia and the Pacific region and beyond.

The first issue of the
Asian Review of Public Administration came out in June 1989, succeeding the EROPA Review (1960-1975), initially published in Vietnam, and the EROPA Journal (1983-1984), initially published in Pakistan, as the organization's flagship publication. Since then, it has become one of the quality journals being produced in the region.

Similar to its predecessors, the journal is by no means limited to scholars, academicians, practitioners, students, and researchers interested in the field of public administration and governance in Asia and the Pacific region. It is intended to promote and advance public administration all over the world. This international scope highlights the concept of region as "
shared purposes and common aims" in every nation.
Objectives
The specific aims of the journal are as follows:

1)    Disseminate ideas, issues, trends and problems impinging on public administration and related fields. It also aspires to promote study and research, as well as serve as a venue for exchange of ideas and experiences.

2)    Promote public administration and governance as a field of study and as an area of professional practice through the documenting of new ideas and to discuss emerging trends and problems and innovative solutions to the problems and to share organizational policies and experiences in the effort to improve the state of public administration and governance in the region and other parts of the world.

The ARPA, in general, hopes to serve as a continuing forum which articulates the views and positions of various scholars and practitioners, reinforce the commitment to public administration in the international level, and improve interactions through exchanging ideas and perspectives. Therefore, the ARPA continually invites and features this shared dedication and purpose towards betterment in every region of the world.

[The] EROPA journal thus fulfills a need and can indeed help considerably the realization to promote cooperation in the improvement of administrative system and practices.
(Dr. Inayatullah, 1983)
Readers of the Asian Review of Public Administration have come to appreciate the importance of this journal as a forum.
(Prof. Alexander Kouzmin and Dr. Alan Jarman, 1992)
Our aim is to promote good study and good practice in public administration and public management.
(Dr. Pan Suk Kim, 2009)
